Subbaiah flays BJP leaders

Former MLA A K Subbaiah flayed the BJP leaders for urging the President to recall the Governor H R Bhardwaj for latter’s decision of sanctioning prosecution against the Chief Minister.

A.K. Subbiah

Speaking with presspersons here on Monday, he said Januvaru Hathye Virodhi Andolana Samithi will urge the President to dissolve the BJP government at the earliest.

He said “we have asked a MP to fix an appointment with the President. We will meet the President and will file a complaint against the state government.”

“After looking at the documents related to the CM’s involvement in land scams, the Governor had sanctioned the prosecution against the CM. If the BJP stages protest against the Governor’s move, then the government can be dissolved under Article 356 of the Constitution,” he warned.

Subbaiah said “the state exchequer has incurred a loss of Rs 2000 crore owing to the Karnataka bundh call given by the BJP against the Governor’s move. The bundh was anti-constitutional and the government does not have any moral right to continue to be in power,” he added.

“Amidst the protest by the Opposition in the Assembly and Council, several Bills have been okayed by the ruling party. In fact, the election to the post of Assembly Deputy Speaker and Council Chairman was a clear violation of the constitution,” he alleged.

“The Chief Minister has been alleging that the Opposition are coming in the way of the development works. Whether the prosperity of Home Minister R Ashok, former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje are ‘development’ in the state? he asked sarcastically.

“Instead of recalling the Governor, the Chief Minister should be sent home,” he added.
Subbaiah said “the BJP is continuing in power owing to the weakness of the Congress. As the Congress leaders want to avoid Siddaramaiah from becoming the Chief Minister, they are indirectly helping the BJP to continue to be in power.”

“The JD(S) is better than the Congress when it comes to unravelling of the land scams and corruption cases of the state government. Unfortunately, JD(S) is father-sons party. As long as they do not accept a leadership outside the family, it can not become a major party,” he added.
